Step 1 of 3 — Create a Telegram Bot

  1. Open Telegram and search for @BotFather (the official bot, with a blue checkmark).
  2. Start a chat with BotFather and send the command: /newbot
  3. BotFather will ask for a name for your bot (any display name, e.g. "My NLC Agent").
  4. Then it asks for a username — must end in bot, e.g. my_nlc_agent_bot.
  5. BotFather replies with your API token — a string like 4839574812:AAFD39kkdpWt3ywyRZergyOLMaJhac60qc. Copy it.

Keep your token private. Treat it like a password.

Open Telegram, find your bot by its username, and send this code. Keep it private — the first person to send it becomes the bot's owner. Valid for 15 minutes.

Step 1 of 3 — Create a Discord Bot

  1. Go to discord.com/developers/applications and click New Application. Enter a name and click Create.
  2. In the left sidebar, click Bot.
  3. Click Reset Token, confirm, then copy the token that appears.
  4. Under Privileged Gateway Intents, enable Message Content Intent and save.
  5. In the left sidebar, click Installation. Under Default Install Settings, add the bot scope and the Send Messages permission, then use the generated install link to add it to your server.

Step 3 of 3 — Enter your Discord User ID

To find your User ID: in Discord, go to Settings → Advanced and turn on Developer Mode. Then right-click your username anywhere in Discord and select Copy User ID.

  1. Go to api.slack.com/apps and click Create New App, then choose From scratch. Enter a name and pick your workspace.
  2. In the left sidebar, click Socket Mode. Toggle Enable Socket Mode to on.
  3. You will be prompted to create an App-Level Token. Give it the connections:write scope, click Generate, and copy the token that starts with xapp-.
  4. In the left sidebar, click OAuth & Permissions. Under Bot Token Scopes, add chat:write and im:history.
  5. Click Install to Workspace at the top of the page, then Allow. Copy the Bot User OAuth Token — it starts with xoxb-.

To find your Member ID: in Slack, click your name at the top of the left sidebar to open your profile. Click the three-dot menu (…) and select Copy member ID.
